About

Hardworking and as kind as they come, Daniel Williams is a train-wrangling, dirt bike-riding country artist from Southern Indiana. The son of a piano teacher, his journey in country music began 3 years ago with the release of a production by Sean Rogers (Nashville, TN) in a tastefully-crafted debut single titled, “On Track”. Coupled with the release of his second Rogers-produced original in “Shot Down”, DW set out to play over three dozen shows around the Southern Indiana area over the last couple years.

In 2023, Williams put together a band of locals with Fletcher Garton on drums, Caleb Morrison on lead guitar, and CJ Merrifield on bass. At the same time, DW decided to stay closer to home for his recording efforts joining forces with producer Wesley Luttrell (of Wally Opus Records) to begin work on a five-song EP. In February 2024, DW decided to officially sign a record deal with Wally Opus and began preparations for his first release with the Evansville-based indie label.

Born into a bull and bronco-riding family, Williams is no stranger to taking risks; a truth portrayed on his first Wally Opus-produced single, “Never Looking Back.” An original work song about escaping the 12-hour days of a job in the rail yard for a better life of guitar picking and songwriting in the world of country music, “Never Looking Back” floats gracefully across a hard-hitting lo-fi-style beat decorated with soothing steel guitar and gripping guitar riffs.

Williams, his band, and his team at Wally are setting out in 2024 with a new sound, fresh aesthetic, and a commitment to establish Daniel Williams as Southern Indiana’s most-promising new country act.
